We had a great weekend to start a “family gathering” tradition. We met at Aunt Jo’s in Claude on saturday August 8, 2009. Judy Campbell Duke and daughter Shauna (w/ Shauna’s two very active red headed boys) came up from Houston area, Kay (first cousin I had not see in 25 yrs or more) and her husband Kerry and two of their beautiful daughters, Bobbie Shay and Chelsea, were there to join us. Aunt Jo, Walt, and our favorite girl Judy, hosted us with hamburgers and photos spread over tables and bedspreads. We added many names to photos us kids didn’t know. I know that Punk and Bonnie, and Mona, Chase and I had a great time learning more about our family and history. It’s a great beginning for our “get togethers” and I’m sure next year we will grow. Next year we will get Aunt Mary Lee to be there with us. Pete joined us Saturday night at mom’s house in Clarendon and spent the rest of the weekend with us brothers. We went to dad’s grave in the morning and then to see mom on sunday afternoon. She was a delight – reminded me of the importance of our family – which always meant so much to her. God Bless You and Love Your All – Clan Campbell.
Love,
Jeff, Mona, Tyler and Chase Campbell

Hello and Welcome

Just a quick note and a couple of pictures to welcome everyone to our new family website. I encourage EVERYONE to participate and become an active part of this site. We are all anxious and eager to know more about our family’s history and to be able to hear and share stories about times past and present.
I stopped by the Claude Cemetery a few days ago and took some pictures. I had not been out there in a long time, but I’ve never forgotten where the Campbell Gravesite is. It’s right by the windmill. – By the way – they have replaced the old wooden windmill with a new metal one. But it’s still right there in the same place.
I just got the site up and running, and this is the first post. We can change it in any way or do whatever everyone wants to with the site.
We can take it as far (or build it as big) as we want.
I thought I could set this up so anyone could register and make posts (add info), but so far, I haven’t figured out how we can to do that. I guess that what I get for thinking : )
BUT, all you need to do to add content, is call or email me and I’ll give you the “admin” login and password.
That way only our family or people we give the password to will be able to add content. That way we can keep it private and not have a lot of SPAM and Bad Stuff.
You can register and add “comments” to existing posts, - you just can’t add a new post without the admin password.
Just call or email me for the login and password. punk@cebridge.net
If you need help making a post or a comment, or anything else, just let me know.
Also, we will need different people to take the lead for different categories of the site. Categories like History, Family Tree and Pictures all need different individuals to take the lead in the development and organization.
If you like it, if you don’t like it, if you have ideas, if you think we should make changes, if you have a better wordpress theme, if you want to take lead on the content for a category, or if you just want to chat, just email me at: punk@cebridge.net
